We may collect information you provide together with data about your use of the app and website, primarily to provide you with a great Fishing Calendar experience.

1.1 Device & Technical Information

We automatically collect certain technical data about your device, including IP address, country code, time zone, session times, device identifiers (IDFVs), language, network status, browser type/version, platform, SDK version, push notification token, and technical device info (model, OS, screen size, etc.). Although some of this may uniquely identify your device, it does not personally identify you. Some jurisdictions (such as the US) may treat device-identifying information as personal data.

1.2 Personal Information

We may collect personally identifiable information (such as name, email address) as well as non-personally identifiable information (such as age range and gender) that you voluntarily provide when registering or contacting us. We use this information only for the purpose for which you provided it and do not share it with third parties.

1.3 Email Address & Marketing Consent

When you create an account, you may be asked for your email address. Providing it is optional, but required if you wish to receive any email communications from us.

During account registration, you will be presented with a separate, unticked opt-in checkbox to consent to receiving marketing emails. We will only send you marketing emails if you explicitly tick this box. You may withdraw this consent at any time by:

• Clicking the Unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or
• Emailing us at info@fishingcalendarapp.com and requesting removal.

Marketing emails (sent only with your consent) may include: fishing tips, new feature announcements, and promotional offers.

Transactional emails (sent regardless of marketing preference) may include: account confirmation, password reset, support replies, and important service or policy updates. These are necessary for the operation of your account and cannot be opted out of while your account remains active.

We will never share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

1.4 Social Network Connections

If you log in using a third-party social network (e.g. Facebook, Game Centre), we collect and store information you authorise us to access via their API, which may include your name, login ID, player identifier, and photos. We only post on social networks on your behalf if you specifically direct us to do so.

1.5 Sharing of Information Upon Your Request

We access your social network profile only if you allow us to, for the purpose of using in-app features. Third-party sites are governed by their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices.

1.6 Public Display of Data

We may publicly display your data when you participate in app-related activities (such as community features) for the purposes of user identification.

1.7 How We Use Your Information

• Deliver our services: develop, improve, and personalise our products; provide updates and support; communicate with customers.
• Analytics & research: understand usage trends, gather demographic data, improve app performance, and learn where the app was downloaded from. For data that may constitute personal information under some laws, we use only device identifiers.

1.8 Push Notifications

Push notifications are only used to remind you about your activities within the app. You can unsubscribe at any time through your device settings. When you unsubscribe, your push notification token is deleted from our database.

1.9 Legal Basis for Processing (EU / GDPR)

For users in the European Union, we process your personal data on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Performance of a contract — processing necessary to provide you with the app and its features (e.g. account creation, in-app purchases, customer support).
• Consent — where you have freely given specific, informed, and unambiguous consent (e.g. subscribing to marketing emails, enabling push notifications). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
• Legitimate interests — for analytics and improving our services, where these interests are not overridden by your data protection rights.
• Legal obligation — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. We store your information for as long as needed to provide you with our services. We delete information as soon as we no longer need it, and may retain it longer only in a way that cannot be traced back to you.

2.1 For EU Users

Personal information is stored only as long as necessary for the provision of our services. Traffic data is erased or anonymised when no longer needed. Location and cookie-related data is retained only as long as needed for the stated purpose or until you opt out.

2.2 For US Users

We retain collected information for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it using reasonable measures to protect it from unauthorised access or use.

We have implemented reasonable security measures to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of collected information, and to prevent unauthorised access. Our Applications are free but may include in-app purchases. In-app purchases require your app store password, and you are responsible for maintaining its security. Be aware of the 20-minute window after downloading an app during which purchases may be made without a password.

Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis from the date of purchase and are charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled more than 24 hours before the renewal date. Any unused free trial will be forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.

You may opt out of future collection of your personal information by uninstalling all Applications from your devices and discontinuing use of the Websites.

A cookie is a small piece of data stored on your computer tied to information about you. Most browsers allow you to disable or manage cookies. Removing cookies may affect your experience and some features may not work correctly.

We use cookies for limited purposes: improving service quality, storing preferences, and tracking aggregate usage. By visiting our website, you agree to our use of cookies.

9.1 Social Network Cookies

If you use social networks, you may already have their cookies on your device. When you interact with social share buttons on our site, those networks may detect your presence using their own cookies. This is governed by their respective privacy policies.

9.2 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to measure website usage. It collects information anonymously and reports aggregate trends without identifying individual visitors. You may opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not perform cross-site user tracking for advertising purposes. At present, Fishing Calendar App does not respond to or alter its practices when a Do Not Track signal is received.

Our app and website may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for those sites’ privacy practices — please review their policies directly.

Fishing Calendar App includes a Community feature where users can share catches, comment, chat, and exchange tips with fellow anglers. By using these features, you agree to the rules below. Violations may result in content removal or restriction/termination of your access.

All public posts and profile information (display name, profile photo, and bio) are visible to other users.

🚫 What You Must Not Post

1. RESPECT No harassment, threats, hate speech, or personal attacks of any kind.
2. AUTHENTICITY No fake or misleading content — including AI-generated images presented as real catches or impersonation.
3. LEGAL Do not share or promote illegal fishing practices (poaching, out-of-season catches, undersized/over-limit fish, restricted areas, or banned equipment).
4. CONSERVATION Avoid content involving protected, threatened, or endangered species. Promote ethical fishing.
5. SPAM No repetitive posts, unsolicited ads, scams, or promotion of external services without written approval.
6. CONTENT No nudity, sexual content, graphic violence, or content involving minors in unsafe situations.
7. PRIVACY Do not share others’ personal information or content without consent.
8. ON-TOPIC Posts must be relevant to fishing or related outdoor activities.

Your Content, Your Rights

You retain ownership of your content. By posting, you grant Fishing Calendar App a licence to use your content within the app for operational purposes. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account (except where content has already been shared by others).

Deleting Your Content

You can delete your posts or comments at any time. Deleting your account removes your public content and profile from the Community. Some data may be temporarily retained in backup systems as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

Legal Disclaimers & Liability

Indemnification: By posting content, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fishing Calendar App and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content or violation of these Community Rules.

Assumption of Risk: Fishing involves inherent outdoor risks. Any locations, tips, or advice shared by users are followed at your own risk. Fishing Calendar App is not responsible for any personal injury, property damage, or legal consequences resulting from activities based on Community content.

Support information is used only to provide support. We do not rent, sell, or share it except:

• With support providers, solely for the purpose of providing support.
• To enforce compliance with our licence agreements or to respond to legal requirements.
• With a successor entity in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, or sale of assets, provided use remains in compliance with this Privacy Policy.

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here and the amended version will supersede previous versions. We recommend reading this Policy each time you use our website or app.

If we make changes to how we use your email address, we will notify you in advance by email. Changes will become effective on the date stated in that email.
