Jester Frogfish

Histrio derisor, known as the jester frogfish or reef jester, is a small tropical anglerfish of the family Antennariidae, closely allied to the sargassum frogfish (Histrio histrio). Like its relatives it is a globular, laterally compressed ambush predator clothed in weedy skin flaps and mottled camouflage, luring prey with a modified dorsal-fin rod. It is set apart by a whimsical crest of three fleshy, drooping lobes above the head — recalling a court jester's cap — which it flicks and waggles, and by a habit of impersonating cleaner fish before darting off with a stolen morsel. A notorious trickster of the reef.
